editBorrowed from Aramaic זַבִּילָא / ܙܰܒܺܝܠܳܐ (zabbīlā, “frail, basket”), from Akkadian 𒂟𒁉𒇻 (/zanbilu, zabbilu/), from Akkadian 𒄿𒊑 (/zabālu/, “to carry, to deliver”). Unrelated to Arabic زِنْفِيلَجَة (zinfīlaja, “haversack”).
