Etymology

Pseudo-Arabism from the passive participle conjugation of pseudo trilateral root ط ر ش (ṭ r š, “to shave”) created from the consonants of تراش (tıraş, “shaving”) which is from Persian (“shaving”, noun). Also from the same pseudo root مترش (müterreş, “shaven”). See Persian for a similar formation.
