1. The dotless bāʾ is a letter of the Arabic alphabet that was used in ancient Arabic. It is the common archaic form of bāʾ ‹ ب›, tāʾ ‹ ت›, ṯāʾ ‹ ث› in all forms, and of initial and medial nūn ‹ ن› and yāʾ ‹ ي› used in the rasm style of writing
