Inherited from Sanskrit हुण्डिका (huṇḍikā). Cognate with Punjabi ਹੁੰਡੀ (huṇḍī) / ہُنڈی (hunḍī), Sindhi هُنڊِي / हुंडी / 𑋞𑋣𑋟𑋈𑋢 (huṇḍī), Assamese হুণ্ডী (hundi), Bengali হুন্ডি (hunḍi), Odia ହୁଣ୍ଡି (huṇḍi), Gujarati હૂંડી (hū̃ḍī).
