Inherited from Maharastri Prakrit 𑀑𑀓𑀟𑁆𑀠 (okaḍḍha, pulled), from Proto-Indo-Aryan *avakaḍḍʰati. Related to ओढ (oḍh, pull, tension). Cognate with Gujarati ઓડવું (oḍavũ).
