Etymology edit

Inherited from Old Marathi 𑘎𑘻𑘪𑘩 (kovala), from Prakrit 𑀓𑁄𑀫𑀮 (komala), from Sanskrit कोमल (komala); the ending -e from Middle Indo-Aryan -𑀓- (-ka-). Doublet of कोमल (komal). Cognate with Gujarati કોમળ (komaḷ), કુમળું (kumaḷũ), Sindhi ڪُنئَرو / कुंअरो, Punjabi ਕੂਲਾ (kūlā) / کُولا (kūlā), Nepali कमलो (kamlo), Odia କୋହଳ (kohôḷô), କଅଁଳ (kôỗḷô), କଅଁଳା (kôỗḷa), Assamese কুমলীয়া (kumolia), Sinhalese කෝමල (kōmala), Phalura koomáalu / کومالوۡ.
