Inherited from Old Marathi 𑘨𑘰𑘄𑘝 (rāuta), from Prakrit 𑀭𑀸𑀬𑀉𑀢𑁆𑀢 (rāyaütta), 𑀭𑀸𑀉𑀢𑁆𑀢 (rāutta), from Sanskrit राजपुत्र (rājaputra). Doublet of राजपुत्र (rājputra).
