    • c. 500 AD, Kaccāyana, Pālivyākaraṇaṃ [Pali Grammar]‎[1], page 294; republished as Satish Chandra Acharyya Vidyabhusana, editor, Kaccayana's Pali Grammar (edited in Devanagari character and translated into English), Calcutta, Bengal: Mahabodhi Society, 1901:
      तिस्स त्थित्तं॥१३॥
      अस इच्चेताय धातुया तिस्स विभत्तिस्स त्थित्तं होति धात्वन्तस्स लोपो च।अत्थि।
      13. Tissa tthittaṃ.
Asa iccetāya dhātuyā tissa vibhattissa tthittaṃ hoti dhātvantassa lopo ca. Atthi.
      'Tthi' from 'ti'.
'As': from this root the ending 'ti' becomes 'tthi' and the end of the root is dropped. Yields atthi.
