Inherited from Early Assamese ঢোণ্ডা (ḍhöṇḍa) and *কাউৰী (kaurī, crow), feminine form of কাউৰ (kauro). The attested Early Assamese word is ঢোণ্ডাকাক (ḍhöṇḍakako).
