Inherited from Prakrit 𑀅𑀕𑀭𑀼 (agaru), from Sanskrit अगरु (agaru). Cognate with Old Gujarati अगर (agara), Old Marathi 𑘀𑘐𑘨 (agara), Middle Bengali অগর (ogor).
