Derived from Indo-Aryan, from Sanskrit सिद्धार्थ (siddhārtha, one who has accomplished an aim or object, successful, prosperous), from सिद्ध (siddha, achievement) + अर्थ (artha, meaning, purpose). Doublet of சித்தார்த்தன் (cittārttaṉ), borrowed directly from Sanskrit.
