Borrowed from Turkish Alevi. Derived from Arabic عَلَوِيّ (ʕalawiyy).

   “turkiyas 20 (eçi) milyoni alevi ren” ya do itkvinen

   It is said that there are 20 million Alevites in Turkey

• The irregular plural is formed due to the recent introduction of this word into Laz
