Etymology edit

ვახტანგი (vaxṭangi) +‎ -ური (-uri). According to the Georgian traditional belief, the root, which is a given name, refers to Vakhtang I of Iberia who converted one village elder to Christianity and as a sign of the mutual understanding they drank like this.
