*ᚷᛚᛇ- (*glï-, gleam?) +‎ ᚨᚢᚷᛁᛉ (augiʀ, eyed). First element possibly related to Old Norse gljá (shine, gleam), Middle Low German glār (amber).[1] For the second element compare e.g. Old Norse veðreygr (storm-eyed).
