edit*ᚷᛚᛇ- (*glï-, “gleam?”) + ᚨᚢᚷᛁᛉ (augiʀ, “eyed”). First element possibly related to Old Norse gljá (“shine, gleam”), Middle Low German glār (“amber”).[1] For the second element compare e.g. Old Norse veðreygr (“storm-eyed”).
