ἀγαλλίς
Ancient Greek edit
Etymology edit
No etymology according to Beekes. The Diccionario Griego-Español proposes a derivation from Proto-Indo-European *ǵʰelh₃- (“yellow”), through Thracian, and subsequently influenced by the unrelated verb ἀγάλλομαι (agállomai, “to be proud, exult in”).
