- (mathematics) Delimits a norm or a norm-like function, distinguished from a norm denoted by ‖·‖.
- (linguistics, rare) the triple pipe, a transcription for a second lateral click distinct from [ǁ].[1] The character U+2980 is recommended for this use by Unicode and is supported by SIL fonts (e.g. proper placement of IPA diacritics).
