Etymology

Compound of ꦧꦶꦩ (bima, “Bhima”, literally “frightening; awesome”) +‎ ꦱꦼꦏ꧀ꦠꦶ (sekti, “magical power”). This was derived from a Javanese myth that imagines the Milky Way in the sky as Bhima (the white stars) fighting a great snake (the black stripes).
