Etymology edit

관자(貫子) (gwanja, headband ring placed above the temples in traditional headwear) +‎ (nol-, to jolt, to twitch (dated)) +‎ (-i, noun-deriving suffix).

When the pulse beats in the temples, the headband ring will jolt slightly: the temple is the "place where the 관자 (gwanja) jolts".
