Etymology edit
Inherited from Proto-Turkic *buka (“bull”). Cognate with, Hungarian bika, Turkish boğa (“bull”), Uzbek buqa, Bashkir Буға (Buğa, “Taurus”). Compare also Mongolian бух (bux), Manchu ᠪᡠᡴᠠ (buka, “ram”), possibly Turkic borrowings.
