Borrowed from Scythian *Zamapatika (“landlord”), composed of Scythian *zama (“earth”) - which underwent a transformation into *ysam (cf. Khotanese ysama (“earth”)) - + Scythian *pati (“leader”) + Scythian *-ka (“hypocoristic suffix”)).^[1]
