From -τρος (-tros) or a similar zero-grade masculine agent-noun suffix + -ίς (-ís, feminine suffix).

  1. Added to verb stems to form feminine agent nouns. Usually accented on the ultima.
    αὐλέω (auléō, to play the flute) + ‎-τρις (-tris) → ‎αὐλητρίς (aulētrís, flute-girl)
