Suffix edit

-ым (-ım)

  1. First-person singular possessive suffix denoting singular possession in words ending in a consonant.
    кыз (kız, cherry) + ‎-ым (-ım) → ‎кызым (kızım, my cherry)

Usage notes edit

  • If the noun ends in a vowel, it becomes "" (for the possession suffix)
    коло (kolo) + ‎-ым (-ım) → ‎колом (kolom)
  • It's used only when the word ends in a vowel. It may change into "-им", "-ум", and "-үм" according to the last vowel of the word. (possession suffix)
    кийим (kiyim) + ‎-ым (-ım) → ‎кийимим (kiyimim) (the last vowel is "e" or "i")
    кол (kol) + ‎-ым (-ım) → ‎колум (kolum) (the last vowel is "o" or "u")
    үй (üy) + ‎-ым (-ım) → ‎үйүм (üyüm) (the last vowel is "ö" or "ü")
