Borrowed from Classical Persian ـمَند (-mand).

-ਮੰਦ (-mand)

  1. Used to form adjectives from nouns with the sense of possessing the quality expressed by the noun.
    ਫ਼ਿਕਰ (fikar, worry) + ‎-ਮੰਦ (-mand) → ‎ਫ਼ਿਕਰਮੰਦ (fikramand, worried)
    ਅਕਲ (akal, intelligence) + ‎-ਮੰਦ (-mand) → ‎ਅਕਲਮੰਦ (akalmand, intelligent)
