Etymology

Related to -ᄫᅳ- (-Wù-). The two suffixes are in complementary distribution in fifteenth-century Middle Korean; -어ᇦ- (-eW-) is used after stems ending in falling diphthongs or certain stems with liquid finals, and -ᄫᅳ- (-Wù-) otherwise.
