  1. Indicates that the following word is a cmene (“quoted name/title/tag”) (proper noun).

Usage notes

  • The cmavo la can be used before an ordinary brivla (“content words”), not just cmevla (“meaning of word is based on morphology/shape”). So, for example, whereas "lo cribe" could be translated as "bear" or "a bear" and "le cribe" as "the bear", "la cribe" could be translated as "Bear". [1]
  • A sumti phrase begun with la can be ended (if necessary) with the elidable terminator ku.
