Beiara
Old High German
editEtymology
editFrom an earlier form corresponding to early medieval Latin Baiovarii, Baioarii, of uncertain origin; possibly corresponding to the demonym Boii + Proto-West Germanic *-wari (“inhabitant, dweller”). The name is not mentioned anywhere prior to the mid-sixth century, suggesting a Late Antique origin.
