Dix-Hallpike test (plural Dix-Hallpike tests)

  1. A diagnostic maneuver used to identify benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV). The patient is quickly lowered to a supine position with the neck extended. A positive test is indicated by patient-reported vertigo and clinical observation of nystagmus.
