Luxembourgish edit

Etymology edit

Possibly inherited from Middle High German duom, northern variant of tuom, from Proto-West Germanic *dōm. However, Luxembourgish -ou- continues older -uo- or -ō-, so the form may also be from German Dom and/or French dôme (see these). All forms ultimately go back to Latin domus.
