Eridino jablko n

  1. (idiomatic, rare) apple of discord, something which causes argument, rivalry, or strife
    Synonym: jablko sváru
    • 1896, Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk, Karel Havlíček: snahy a tužby politického probuzení[1], Praha: Jan Leichter, page 490:
From the very beginning the arguments, unless they were personal, were caused by the "apple of discord" as it was correctly recognized by Palacký himself. The apple of discord was the relashionship to the nobility, or more precisely determining the democratic programme.
