- A taxonomic kingdom within the superkingdom Eukaryota – the true fungi, eukaryotic heterotrophic walled organisms.
Usage notes edit
- Intended to exclude Myxomycetes (slime molds, now often in kingdom Protozoa) and Oomycetes (water molds, now often in kingdom Chromista), which were formerly included in Fungi.
