redundant?

This page appears to be redundant with the more comprehensive Category:Appendices. Rossami 00:45, 29 March 2006 (UTC)

Including this template on a page, however, does not cause the page to be included in any category. What purpose does this template serve anymore? Has it now been superceded by the category? From my own review of What links here, it certainly appears so. Rossami 05:29, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
