Inverbervie
English
editEtymology
editFrom Scottish Gaelic inbhir (“river mouth, confluence”) + Bervie, a river name (see Bervie Water). The 12th century form of the name was Haberberui, showing that inbhir replaced Pictish *aber (“river mouth, confluence”).
