@Justinrleung: She says she's from Guangzhou, so if there's lots of mistakes, why do you think she'll be making them as a native speaker? Or do you think it might be bad translation to Mandarin? And anyway, since you don't trust it, I don't mind you removing it for now. But from my own knowledge of Cantonese based on how my parents speak it with their Cantonese friends, this "reversal" is quite common in Cantonese, where 公雞 in Mandarin becomes 雞公 in Cantonese, for instance. @The dog2: The other examples in the video are fine, but I don’t know how common this 夜半 would be. It doesn’t show up in any of the sources on Guangzhou that I have access to. 半夜 is given instead (@RcAlex36 told me that the 語保平台 has 半夜 for Liwan, Guangzhou). I’m not sure why she has made “mistakes” like this; perhaps she was thinking of this word’s use in some Cantonese songs, which can often be uncommon in actual speech. — justin(r)leung _{{ (t...) | c=› }} 20:02, 22 March 2022 (UTC)
