edit@Justinrleung, The dog2 If "garlic shoot" (i.e. 蒜的嫩梗和嫩葉) is what the module is meant to cover, then I suggest that the module be moved to Module talk:zh/data/dial-syn/青蒜. 現代漢語詞典 labels 蒜苗 as dialectal/regional and states 蒜苗 is a synonym of 青蒜, which is glossed as "蒜的嫩梗和嫩葉，做菜用". - @The dog2, yes, I think that's what RcAlex36 is suggesting. 普通话基础方言基本词汇集 also has 青蒜 as a title, so if 蒜的嫩梗和嫩葉 is the intended sense, I would agree for it to be moved there. — justin(r)leung { (t...) | c=› } 06:03, 28 June 2021 (UTC)
- OK, 蒜苗 is the only term I have heard, but perhaps that's something that is only used in southern China and overseas. If you have authoritative sources that say that 青蒜 is the standard term, and 蒜苗 is a regional term, I wont' oppose the move. The dog2 (talk) 16:09, 28 June 2021 (UTC)
- @The dog2: 現代漢語詞典 is one. But saying 青蒜 is the standard form is a bit prescriptive in my opinion. Taiwan's 國語辭典 defines 青蒜 as "初生的蒜苗。以綠葉為主要食用部分，故稱為「青蒜」", while 蒜苗 is defined as "嫩的蒜薹，可供食用。也稱為「蒜毫」". RcAlex36 (talk) 16:13, 28 June 2021 (UTC)
