Particularly: “From Venetian [Term?]? Cf. Venetian vegro and the related terms below, especially Vegra. Given Italian possessione f, Italian might have borrowed the Venetian adjective to modify its noun; alternatively, Venetian might have borrowed the Italian noun, or its cognate may be identical. Consider the village’s location in the far northeast of Emilia-Romagna, very near the border with the Rovigo Province of the Veneto Region.”
