Latin
editEtymology

editNoun
edit*ērīciōnem m (plural *ērīciōnēs) (Proto-Western-Romance)
Reconstruction notes
editRelatively late formation, considering that it lacks the otherwise-expected weakening and loss of /i/ in this position. Apparently originated in the north, where it eliminated the reflexes of ērīcius, and propagated southwards.
