Calque of Avestan 𐬀𐬴𐬀𐬎𐬎𐬀𐬰𐬛𐬀𐬵 (Aṣ̌auuazdah), from 𐎠𐎼𐎫 (a-r-t /⁠artaʰ⁠/, Asha; truth) +‎ *vazdāh (persistence, endurance). Cognate Sanskrit वेधा ऋतष्य (vedhā́ ṛtáṣya).[1][2]
