Reconstruction notes
edit- There exists no (other) reconstruction with root-initial *ilo, which leads Booker to suggest that this term could be reconstructed as *ilok¢iCa. This could explain Hitchiti and Mikasuki word-initial *y, through weakening of *ilo to *iyo.
Descendants
edit- Chickasaw: loksiꞌ, luksi
- Mobilian: loksi
- Choctaw: luksi, loksi (modern)
- Creek: locv
- Hitchiti: yokči
- Mikasuki: yokči
