Borrowed from Scythian *xata-ruča- (dugout with a window ?), from Proto-Iranian *kata- (compare Avestan 𐬐𐬀𐬙𐬀- (kata-, room, hut, cellar), Persian کد (kad, house)) + *ráwčah (light).
