-au- could never have given -ō- in Old English or Old Norse, they must come from -ō-. And OHG even has both -ou- (< -au-) and -uo- (< -ō-) so I think this has to be reconstructed as a pair of forms, rather than a single one. —CodeCat 12:45, 27 July 2013 (UTC)
- I've put OHG goumo and it's descendants under the variant. But what about the MLG and Middle Dutch forms? They aren't regular either, are they? Kolmiel (talk) 00:28, 21 April 2017 (UTC)
