sīhwanan ---> sēon

edit

The etymology sīhwanan ---> sēon is contradicted on the sēon page. Is this for real? It means that a verb meaning "to filter, sieve" changed into a verb meaning "to see". I'll change it if no one else says otherwise. Soap (talk) 17:18, 30 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

It's not a contradiction, since *sehwaną > sēon as well. seon is probably just missing a sense, and what happened in that case is that the two verbs merged together in at least some of the forms. —CodeCat 17:36, 30 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
