An Outline of Coming Events, and an Harmonious Elucidation of the Prophecies Having Reference Thereto: Also the Rapture of the True Church, with a New and Satisfactory Explanation of the Symbolic Number 666.[1] (Religion), Cincinnati, Ohio: Wrightson & Co., →OCLC, page 50:
An extraordinary character at the head of a leading power in Europe will be the immediate instrumentality in organizing the coming Roman Empire; but extraordinary occasions always bring out such.
The great Napoleon, and the Imperial Confederation which he organized, afford an illustration. But the head of the Revived Roman Empire will be, in many respects, a more extraordinary character than the great Napoleon. The coming character will be an unscrupulous, impious, daring person, endowed with satanic intelligence and skill, and wielding a species of superhuman power over the minds of men. He is styled by the inspired Apostle, "that man of sin, the son of perdition, who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshiped."

Here is a distinction between the “FORMER” and “LATTER” time of the “Four Kingdoms” into which Alexander’s Empire was divided, which prophetically declares that those “Four Kingdoms” are to be resuscitated and become “Four” of the “Ten Kingdoms” into which the Revived Roman Empire shall be divided, for God is able to revive dead nations as well as dead men. As proof of this Greece is a sovereign State today, and Egypt is again coming into power, and in the upheaval of nations no one can foretell how soon Thrace and Syria shall again appear as independent Kingdoms.

The following will be among the questions the pastor will answer at the evening service: "Will Mussolini Revive Ancient Babylon?" "What will be the Relationship Between Rome and Bablon[sic – meaning Babylon] in the Revived Roman Empire?" "What Is the Prophetic Siginficance[sic – meaning Significance] of the Pope’s Latest Disagreement with Mussolini?"

The other nations which were a part of the Old Roman Empire, but are not as yet in the W.E.U., as of this writing, are Spain, Portugal and Austria. Austria has already applied for membership in the Common Market. Portugal is a member of NATO and thus in full cooperation with the W.E.U.; and Spain has just renewed its military agreement with the U.S.A. and thus with the Atlantic Alliance and NATO. The end result, therefore, is that, even though the actual Ten Nation Empire of the Revived Roman Empire area is not yet in full political oneness, it is already in full cooperation by coalition and it is supported militarily by full commitment of the United States of America and the thermonuclear super-power thereof.

One of the reasons I’m convinced we’re living in the closing days of the world’s history is because of the emergence of the European Common Market, also known as the European Economic Community. There is no doubt in my mind that it’s the forerunner of the Revived Roman Empire which the prophet Daniel spoke about with such certainty. He predicted that the number of nations in it would be limited to ten. This is the very number which the Common Market has set as its goal for inner membership!

Though scarcely noticed at publication by even the evangelical press, The Late Great Planet Earth became the best-selling book of the decade, with scores of printings ultimately churning out close to 16 million copies. IT was a tale of biblical prophecy told in countercultural vernacular, and it went like this. Soon the Israelis will rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem and conclude a treaty with the dictator of the Revived Roman Empire, also known as the Antichrist.

At the exact time of the Rapture or Catching-Away of the Church (1 COR 15:51-54), (1 THESS 4:13-18), and the great, great turmoil that results from War World III; a great leader like the world has never seen (Anti-Christ), will come forth out of the European Union thus the revived Roman Empire will come into its full being or existence as the final Kingdom on earth ruled by mortal man; in which he (Anti-Christ) will rule the earth for a seven year period; (DAN 9:27) at which at the end of that time the LORD of LORDS, and KING of KINGS will set up the Kingdom of GOD which shall never end (DAN 2:44, 7:13-14, 27) which we will study more in-depth in a later chapter.

The Eighth form of this political Beast is described in the Book of Revelation 17, c11. It is an extension of the Revived Roman Empire at the end of the Church Age; which will rise to its climax and be terminated by an act (see Rev.17:16) of the Antichrist; who has not yet been revealed; and who God says will remain for a short while to accomplish God's Will, in Rev.17:17).
