Purpose? edit

Hello, please could someone explain to me what this redirect is for? Many thanks in advance, greetings --birdy, das weltraumvogi (:> )=| 11:07, 10 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Users with Firefox (I think Mozilla too...) can create so called "smart bookmarks" whereby one enters a code (such as wikt) + a search string in the adress bar, and is taken to the correct wikt: page. However, if no search string is given, it will by default search for %s. Redirecting this page to Main page gives these users easy access to the main page, and prevents dozens of visits to a page which really shouldn't have any other content, if you get what I mean... ;) \Mike 11:21, 10 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

It was technically useful for Firefox users: w:Talk:%s. We are ready to delete it now. — TAKASUGI Shinji (talk) 05:24, 12 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Deleted. (Though really this belonged at RFD or RFDO.)—msh210 (talk) 05:43, 25 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
