Initial ζ vs ο

the loss of the laryngeal in ζέφυρος would be due to the initial *h3j yielding ζ in greek (contrary to *h2j and *h1j, which yielded *h in PGr.). The present οἴφω likely continues a reduplicated formation *h3é-h3ibh-ō > *óïphō > οἴφω Aloon afdacig (talk) 14:03, 9 July 2023 (UTC)
