- @Calak, I suppose it's a Persianized form of Մարգարյանց (Margaryancʻ), because Persian has no /t͡sʰ/. The -k- reflects the pronunciation, not the spelling. --Vahag (talk) 13:45, 12 March 2019 (UTC)
- The Iranian-Armenians Irene Zazians and Vahe Aghabegians apparently have the same change from Զազյանց (Zazyancʻ) and Աղաբեկյանց (Aġabekyancʻ) respectively. --Vahag (talk) 13:50, 12 March 2019 (UTC)
