- A connection with ცა (ca) and Basque sap (“sky”) (I don't find such a word) has been proposed by Nicholas Marr in Известия Академии Наук, Петербург, 1920, page 133 and in Язык и летература, vol I, 1926, page 227. This is dismissed by Ačaṙyan.
- Nonetheless, the connection with ცა (ca) is possible, if the latter is connected with Proto-North Caucasian *ʒǝ̆wɨ̆ (“sky”). Indeed, that is proposed by Klimov but rejected by Starostin. See ToB. --Vahag (talk) 23:09, 20 November 2013 (UTC)
