@Vahagn Petrosyan: Is Kurdish form a metathesis of Semsûr (w:Adıyaman)?! I am not sure. Compare also Kurdish xinûsî (= Armenian խնոցի (xnocʻi)) probably from Xinûs (w:Hınıs) + -î (?). --Calak (talk) 21:00, 29 September 2020 (UTC)
- @Calak: Those seem like folk etymologies. Both Kurdish terms are probably borrowed from Armenian, the Armenian affricates regularly rendered by an s. --Vahag (talk) 15:39, 1 October 2020 (UTC)
