Two Thai etymologies
edit@Octahedron80 Hello, Headley mentions 2 different sources from Thai, kooŋ for bent, and kɔ̂ɔŋ for loud, noisy. Would you be able to provide the Thai entries for these two? Thx Sitaron (talk) 10:45, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
Do you mean โกง and ก้อง ? This word កោង is cognate with โกง of course. ก้อง does not seem to relate with this. --Octahedron80 (talk) 11:15, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
- Thx. So it's actually directly coming from Proto-Mon-Khmer, not borrowed from Thai. For the second term, I suspect a reduplicative of កាច. Sitaron (talk) 11:57, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
