Alternate Japanese pronunciation?Edit

Can it also be pronounced "bo" in Japanese, as in the surname Kubota (久保田)? 03:56, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

Yes. In Japanese language, when two or more words make a combined word, the first consonant of the second (or latter) word may become voiced or semi-voiced (i.e. k->g, s->z, t->d, h->b and h->p). But, this kind of chaged sounds are not usually listed in dictionaries, as it is much redundant. -- 16:15, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
Also long "bō" as in 神保町 Jinbōchō. Tualha (talk) 23:18, 2 August 2013 (UTC)
