Maker of hooks?

Our article says:

A surname originating as an occupation for a maker of hooks.

The OED does not support this. (It lists occupational meanings for "hooker" as a petty thief (since 1547) and a prostitute (since 1845).) Does this require a citation or any other support? 2600:4040:738E:5400:9C5B:3ACC:B5FC:87C4 14:48, 31 October 2022 (UTC)
